Prior to purchase, the Santa Clara Valley Humane Society required a Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment at a new Milpitas location that met their growth specifications for a new kennel and administration, however was previously operated as a fabrication and warehouse facility. The Site is located adjacent to and on the edge of the solvent plume from a Superfund Site. Denali’s work required clearing issues of historical Site operations with records and environmental database search, subsurface chemical investigation, and satisfying due diligence regarding the off-site Superfund Site. Further, Denali gained agency approval for destruction of a seldom-tested Site monitoring well associated with the Superfund Site. This eliminated a major Site environmental liability and accelerated the property transaction.
