Integrated Health & Disability Management:

Disabilities and their associated costs, regardless of their origin (occupational or non-occupational), have become one of the more significant financial issues impacting corporate profitability. While nationwide workers' compensation costs have been estimated as high as $150 billion per year, disability costs have been estimated as high as $300 billion per year. These are direct costs. Hidden expenses (overtime, loss of productivity, etc.) are estimated to double these costs. Even more alarming is the fact that of the over 600,000 workers who will suffer a disabling injury in 2004, over half of these will never return to work.

What are some of the strategies corporations are employing to address these issues?

•  Claims data analysis and lost workday studies.
•  Reduce the number and severity of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
•  Reduce the length of disability via a focus on case management and medical outcomes rather than cost containment.
•  Reduce the adversarial relationship with employees and the likelihood of costly litigation.
•  Facilitate early return to work via transitional duty programs.

The Denali Group offers a full range of disability management and return-to-work services:
